DX helps engineering teams identify areas of their process, tools, and culture to improve; then gather suggestions from developers on specific actions to take. Teams run Snapshots once per quarter to determine where to improve and measure change. Then between snapshots, teams use Feedback questions to capture suggestions on how to improve.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Add the DX App for Slack to your workspace from the Slack App Directory, or by first signing into DX and using the “Add to Slack” button.
  2. Use your Slack workspace user directory to quickly define teams inside DX.
  3. Schedule your first “snapshot” survey to get a baseline measurement across a number of developer experience factors. Links to respond are sent to users via Slack DMs.
  4. Once your results are in, you can schedule additional follow-up questions in DX as needed to gather more feedback from your team. These are sent via Slack DMs.
